Arjowiggins Graphic, the leading manufacturer of innovative environmental paper solutions, today announces the launch of a new campaign linked to this year’s United Nations (UN) Climate Conference taking place in Copenhagen from December 7th to 18th. The extensive campaign includes a mailer and photo book – printed on leading green paper stock Cyclus, which originates from Denmark – as well as an interactive website.

The conference will bring together world leaders with the aim of setting a number of environmental objectives. To correspond with this, Arjowiggins Graphic has developed a campaign to encourage printers and designers to consider the small steps they themselves can take to reduce their carbon emissions.

The campaign commences with the distribution of 3,500 teaser mailers in conjunction with Antalis and James McNaughton that include background on the conference, details of the campaign and facts on the environmental credentials of Cyclus. The mailer is being sent to designers, marketing and print managers, outlining the campaign and giving them the chance to enter a competition to win a trip to Copenhagen, as well as receive a copy of a photobook entitled ‘Copenhagen Co2mmitment’ and one of 100 ‘No Co2mpromise’ t-shirts.

Recipients of the mailers are also given the chance to pledge their support of the UN Climate Conference. Signatures from across Europe will be collected and handed to the Chairman of the UN Climate Change Conference during December.

The photobook, printed on Cyclus, includes unique shots of the people and sights of Copenhagen taken by four photographers exclusively for this campaign. It has been designed to show a Copenhagen that is vibrant, lively, full of vitality and with amazing spirit, providing alternative views of the city from new and refreshing angles. The mailer and photobook are supported by a website – www.cyclus.dk/co2 – which includes campaign details, facts about the unique environmental credentials of Cyclus and the option to follow the project with a Copenhagen Co2mmitment Facebook page.

Angela De Vorchik, UK Operational Marketing Manager, Arjowiggins Graphic, comments, “As Denmark is the home of Cyclus this event has provided a great platform for us to communicate the environmental benefits of using a paper with leading green credentials. Our aim is to encourage customers to think about the small actions they can take to reduce their own carbon footprint whilst highlighting the big steps world leaders are taking to address climate change.”

Arjowiggins Graphic will also be partnering with Responding To Climate Change (RTCC), a NGO dedicated to promoting effective action in mitigating and adapting to global climate change. RTCC’s latest publication will be printed on Arjowiggins Graphic stock and distributed within the welcome pack to all 15,000 delegates at the conference. The partnership also includes branding on the RTCC website and interviews with the Arjowiggins Graphic team on www.climate-change.tv.

Cyclus is the leading European brand of coated and uncoated paper produced from 100% recycled fibres, with a manufacturing process that requires only one tenth of the energy used to produce virgin fibres, making it virtually carbon neutral. Cyclus is distributed by James McNaughton, Antalis, Premier Paper Group and Paper Back.
